The Post Brent Adult Social Care is to looking to recruit enthusiastic and committed social workers who have qualified in the last 2 years for our ASYE programme. Whilst we at Brent have high expectations of our newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) you will be supported as part of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme. The ASYE is a nationally recognised 12-month programme for NQSWs to help you make the transition from the point of qualification to the professional social work role. The ASYE programme is well embedded and developed in Brent. Further support for NQSWs is a dedicated monthly reflective space for ASYEs, which is aimed at all ASYEs to complement your NQSW/ASYE year of practice. As part of our workforce you will be entitled to attend a range of courses throughout your ASYE year, from person-centred practice to strengths based work which is embedded within our Adults Practice Framework. Brent is extremely committed to your success, and we have a learning and development team which offers bespoke and individual support to our ASYE’s, which can include coaching, mentoring, developing specific areas of practice which affords you with a dynamic learning experience. There will be a range of social work duties and responsibilities that NQSWs will carry out, depending on the service area you are appointed to. You will be expected to underpin all of your work with a commitment to relationship-based practice and ensuring that the voice of the adult is evident throughout and appropriately influences planning. Brent is also committed to Inclusive Practice and have Brent focused specialised training such as LGBTQ Awareness, Anti- Racist Practice and more throughout the year. As well as your core social work skills you will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative practice and to co-develop services with service users and their carers.
