Job Title Quantity Surveyor Sector Civil & Groundworks Salary - £55,000 PA Package Bonus Location St Helens Start Date ASAP The Company A medium size Civil / Groundworks contractor is seeking an experienced and driven Quantity Surveyor to join their busy commercial team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in their North West office on some exciting projects. Project value typically range from £500k to £4M, working with mainly on new build housing projects for a number of leading national, and regional housing developers. The Role As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the surveying function reporting directly to the commercial manager. You will be working from their St Helens office, although from time to time you will be required to visit site. You will be responsible for the timely and accurate commercial control and associated reporting of project costs Preparing and reviewing tenders with the commercial team and assisting with understanding the client's requirements to offer value engineering Allocating work to sub-contractors including assistance with procurement when required. Commercial reporting on matters such as cost / value reconciliations Forecasting monthly and annual profit figures ensuring figures are maintained throughout the lifetime of the project. Issuing of contractual notices and evaluate loss and expense/acceleration claims General contract administration To take responsibility for the maximisation of profits on allocated projects Liaising with the client, sub-contractors, design teams and other stakeholders The preparation and agreement of final accounts About You Ideally you will have a minimum of 4 Years experience working for a similar Civil or Groundwork contractor, although they will also consider candidates with other construction sector experience. Relevant commercial degree HNC/HND Not Essential Can do Attitude and want to earn plenty of money Self-Motivated and effective use of Initiative Strong reporting and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with all stakeholders Apply & Rewards For your skills and experience our client is looking to pay an excellent yearly salary of around £55,000 basic plus a package including bonus.
