Due to our continued success, Progress Teachers are looking for a passionate Teacher of Music to work within a Secondary School in Coventry. As a Teacher of Music, you will be expected to play a crucial role in promoting a vibrant and inclusive musical environment, nurturing students' passion for music, and ensuring the department's success.
Responsibilities:
1. Designing and developing comprehensive music lessons that align with educational standards and the school's goals.
2. Ensuring the lessons reflect a broad spectrum of musical genres and styles.
3. Creating an environment that fosters student interest, participation, and enthusiasm for music.
4. Organising and supporting extracurricular music activities and clubs.
5. Overseeing the maintenance and acquisition of musical instruments and equipment.
6. Collaborating with other school departments and administration to integrate music into the overall educational experience.
7. Coordinating music-related events, such as concerts, recitals, and competitions.
8. Engaging with parents, the local community, and potential donors to promote and support the music program.
9. Building partnerships with local music organisations and institutions.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's (BA) or master's degree in music education or a related field.
2. Teaching certification and relevant licenses.
3. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
4. Proven experience in music education and curriculum development.
5. Strong leadership and management skills.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
7. Commitment to inclusivity and diversity in music education.
8. Proficiency in musical instruments and technology.
