Cooper Lomaz are excited to recruit for a well-established client based in Bury St Edmunds who is seeking for an experienced Planner / Buyer.
As a Planner/Buyer you will be working within the Supply Chain department, providing Planning, Purchasing and Material Control support to production operations, Engineering, QA and Customer Service.
Essential Functions/Duties:
1. On a daily basis, update IFS computer system with Static data gained from production, sales/planning forecast, customer service and historical data.
2. On a daily basis, monitor and maintain MRP to ensure data is correct and up to date, ensuring exception messages are actioned
3. Liaise as required with Customer Service, Manufacturing and Purchasing/Planning to schedule product of materials to ensure build is completed to customer requested dates, ensuring adequate stock is held to maximize customer service levels and Inventory turns
4. Ensure purchase orders are placed and or expedited to maintain stock and service at optimum levels
5. Working in conjunction with Operations, monitor material availability and capacity loading to avoid over-commitment of resources resulting in missed delivery promises
6. Attend as required Production, Customer Service and Value Stream meetings, ensuring full participation and preparation as necessary
7. Generate on a daily basis, the Production Schedule, Customer Service Report, and Shortage Report to ensure production of products remains on schedule
8. Carry out any other tasks that may be required to support Operations
9. Respond to change positively and productively and promote Company culture/ethos
10. Keep abreast of changes to Company Policies and Procedures, including Health and Safety Policies, ensuring the same are met and adhered to
Previous Experience/Skills:
11. At least 2 years’ Supply Chain Planning and Purchasing experience.
12. At least 5 years’ experience in Planning and materials control functions, demonstrating strong customer service skills.
13. Previous experience of managing an ERP/MRP system preferably IFS.
14. Experience in Planning and Purchasing - metal, plastics, or electronic parts for inclusion in industrial assembly environment.
15. Experience in problem solving techniques.
16. Computer Literate in MRP/MPS ideally utilizing IFS or similar.
17. Computer Literate (Microsoft Office), must have Excel capability at intermediate level.
18. Ability to make appropriate and effective use of oral and written English to communicate, cooperate and negotiate with diverse individuals and groups.
19. Ability to utilise analytical and mathematical skills appropriate to responsibilities.
