We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join our team in the Inpatient Ward at the Badenoch and Strathspey Community Hospital, Aviemore as Deputy Charge Nurse. The ward at B&S Community Hospital has 18 inpatient beds, providing the very highest standards of care. The ward delivers care to patients who are admitted direct from community or transferred from Raigmore Hospital or other acute settings
You will be an NMC registered Nurse with relevant ward experience and possess effective communication and leadership skills. The post would be suited to a highly organised individual who is forward thinking and dedicated to delivering the highest level of person centred care. You will work collaboratively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. As Deputy Charge Nurse you will be expected to take responsibility as Nurse in Charge of the ward and co-ordinate the day to day workload working in conjunction with the Senior Charge Nurse. In your role you will take the lead on a rehabilitation approach as part of discharge planning. You should also be eager to be involved in quality improvement and education of staff. We will offer the successful candidate training and development opportunities while working in a welcoming environment with a supportive and dedicated team.
The Badenoch and Strathspey Community Hospital opened in September 2021 and is situated in Aviemore, nestled in the picturesque Cairngorm National Park. The area provides access to a number of summer and winter activities. The rural setting is a much sought after area in which to live and work. It is within driving distance of Inverness.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
