Research Associate – Neuroscience: Join the dynamic team at Andrew Lin’s lab in the School of Biosciences at the University of Sheffield to explore how the brain encodes sensory information and forms associative memories. We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to investigate these questions using the fruit fly Drosophila as a model organism. This exciting opportunity involves employing a variety of cutting-edge techniques, including two-photon calcium imaging, electrophysiology, genetics, behavioral experiments, computational modeling, and custom equipment development.
Designation: Research Associate
Research Area: Neuroscience and Memory Formation
Location: University of Sheffield, Sheffield, UK
* PhD in a relevant field or equivalent experience
* Expertise in at least some of the following techniques: in vivo two-photon calcium imaging, electrophysiology, fly genetics, behavioral experiments, computational modeling, and custom equipment development
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to present research findings at conferences and seminars
* Self-motivated, innovative, and creative mindset
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
* Diverse academic backgrounds are encouraged, including biology, neuroscience, experimental psychology, computer science, physics, and engineering
Job Description:
