Are you an organised and dedicated individual with a passion for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene? West Berkshire Council is seeking a Housekeeper to join our Adult Social Care Service, working within the Birchwood Care Home team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our residents by ensuring a clean and comfortable environment.
Role and Responsibilities
As a Housekeeper, you will report to the Head Housekeeper and be responsible for carrying out the following duties:
1. Maintain daily cleaning schedules, ensuring all areas are cleaned to the highest standards.
2. Perform a variety of cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising surfaces.
3. Handle laundry duties, such as washing, drying, ironing, and folding.
4. Ensure proper storage and organisation of cleaning supplies and equipment.
5. Report any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate personnel.
6. Work collaboratively with other team members to provide excellent care and support to residents.
Skills and Attributes
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
1. Previous experience in a housekeeping or cleaning role is desirable.
2. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
3. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
4. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
6. Good communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with residents and colleagues.
