Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day financial operations of the business. You will ensure the accuracy of our financial records, manage cash flow, and provide crucial support for financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
2. Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
3. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
4. Oversee payroll and ensure timely and accurate processing.
5. Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
6. Assist in preparing for audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.
7. Work closely with the finance team to support financial planning and analysis.
8. Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, including VAT returns.
9. Manage expense reporting and reimbursements.
10. Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
11. Implement and improve financial systems and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Skills & Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role, ideally within a technology or service-oriented company.
2. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g, Xero) and MS Excel.
3. Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
4. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
5. Strong problem-solving abilities and financial acumen.
6. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education & Experience:
1. Professional bookkeeping certification (e.g., AAT, ICB) is preferred.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior bookkeeping role.
