An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated physiotherapist with extensive MSK experience to join our dynamic outpatient MSK team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. The successful applicant will be proficient and confident in the delivery of evidence-based assessments and treatments for a wide variety of MSK conditions.
We are seeking to employ someone who possesses extensive knowledge and experience working with lower limb injuries. The role will require the candidate to work to a high level in assessing and providing care for patients with lower limb pathologies including both trauma and elective presentations from acute injury to longer-term complex management cases.
The successful applicant will be a proactive and highly motivated individual with a strong commitment to their own continuing and professional development, both clinically and in terms of leadership. They will demonstrate the ability to adapt to new challenges whilst maintaining quality care and fostering innovation within the team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for their own complex clinical caseload and will be available to support more junior colleagues and students. Leading clinical reasoning sessions, in-service training, developmental joint supervision sessions and supporting staff questions will be an expectation of the role. Furthermore, supporting the team on the operational side of the MSK physiotherapy service to ensure its successful delivery of high-quality care. This will include appropriate triaging, attending service meetings and liaising with the adult therapies administrative team with some operational responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be accountable to the clinical service manager and will be supported with regular one-to-one discussions and appraisal opportunities. Service development, project and research opportunities will be available as part of the role.
The work is physically and mentally demanding but brings enormous rewards when you see patients progressing through challenging circumstances. Teamwork is paramount, both within the physiotherapy team and with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

Job responsibilities
To perform the advanced physiotherapeutic assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients within this specialist field who may have complex physical and psychological conditions and/or chronic presentation. He/She will play a key role in the development implementation and evaluation of specialist physiotherapy rehabilitation programmes and packages of care.
As an experienced physiotherapist, the job holder will assist in coordinating the activities of the team ensuring efficient and effective service provision. He/She will be required to ensure effective communication is maintained at all times, whilst providing training, supervision and clinical expertise to qualified and unqualified staff and students.
As a lead clinician in this specialist area, the job holder will act as a role model to the physiotherapy team, promoting quality evidence-based practice, developing the physiotherapy team and contributing to the effective management of the team in the absence of the Clinical Physiotherapy Manager.

* Degree in physiotherapy or equivalent
