Job Description Purchase Ledger vacancy - based in Leighton Buzzard, LU7 Job Purpose: A leading automotive company, is seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant to join its team. This full-time on-site position requires the successful candidate to possess strong skills in purchasing processes and procurement. The ideal candidate must have had previous experience in a purchase ledger environment. Attention to detail and accuracy are paramount. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure the accurate and timely recording of all supplier invoices, credit notes, and other transactions in the accounting system Schedule and execute weekly or monthly supplier payment runs, ensuring all payments are accurate and completed within agreed terms Regularly review and reconcile supplier accounts to resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate records, and identify any missed or duplicate payments Proactively address and resolve supplier queries, invoice discrepancies, and payment delays in a professional and timely manner Keep detailed and organised documentation of all purchase ledger transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations Assist with purchase ledger-related month-end tasks, including accruals, reconciliations, and providing accurate data for financial reporting Develop and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, ensuring open communication and efficient problem resolution Review invoices and purchase orders to ensure they align with company budgets, policies, and approval processes Provide relevant purchase ledger information and support during internal or external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of purchase ledger processes and contribute to implementing best practices Person Specification: A high level of attention to detail and accuracy Experience with purchasing processes and purchase orders Process oriented with the ability to see a task through to completion A team player who works effectively with others Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Benefits: 24 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) Health insurance, with comprehensive coverage to support your well-being Pension scheme with our contributory pension plan Paid time off, enjoy a generous leave policy for a healthy work-life balance If you are interested, please get in touch ASAP or if this is not the exact role you are searching for, please do not hesitate to contact me directly to discuss other opportunities.
