Pharmacy Support Worker - Aseptic Services
Located within the grounds of Stepping Hill hospital is Stockport Pharmaceuticals Aseptic Services unit.
The unit is part of the regional NHS pharmaceutical production unit and holds Medicinal Product licenses with which the team provide a wide range of aseptic products both nationally and internally to the trust.
The unit also carries out the aseptic dispensing of products under Section 10 exemption on behalf of Stepping Hill Hospital.
The position available is for an Aseptic Pharmacy Support Worker.
The Pharmacy support worker role is graded as an Agenda for Change Band 3 position; however, linked progression from Band 2 to 3 will be considered. For those appointed at Band 2, the progression will be dependent on the demonstration of Band 3 criteria detailed in the Person Specification.
Main duties of the job
* To work in a large licensed Aseptic facility that provides a wide range of products to Stockport NHS Trust and neighbouring trusts.
* The Pharmacy Support Worker will carry out the routine preparation of all aseptically prepared drugs in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practice.
* There is a requirement to carry out the technical skills necessary to perform these duties carefully and accurately, and to develop a conscientious attitude in order to provide a coordinated and effective service.
* The Pharmacy Support Worker will be required to undertake on-the-job training to develop the necessary competence, skills, and knowledge to fulfill the job.
Ideally, we would like you to have some experience working in a hospital pharmacy, a hospital Aseptic production unit, or an equivalent commercial Aseptic compounding Unit. However, people without relevant Aseptic experience may be considered as full training will be given to the successful candidate.

Qualification
* Recognised qualification in English
* Recognised qualification in Maths
* NVQ level 2 or equivalent in pharmacy services
* Computer Qualification
* GCSE or equivalent in science subject
Work Experience
* Experience in an NHS hospital pharmacy environment.
* Experience in an NHS hospital Aseptic Unit or Commercial compounding unit.
* Experience in an NHS Production Unit environment.
* Experience in a Retail Dispensary environment.
* Experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
* Experience in a Food Manufacturing/Retail Environment.
* Experience of working in a Clean environment.
* Experience in automated dispensing.
Skills and Abilities

£24,169 to £25,674 a year pro rata per annum.
