Job Title: Graduate Purchasing Coordinator Location: BioMar (Hybrid) Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience) The closing date for applications for this role is the 5th November 2024. Purpose: Reporting to the Purchasing Director, The Graduate Purchasing Coordinator role addresses the need for succession planning within BioMar’s Purchasing Department, driven by a growing focus on sustainable procurement and compliance with ESG and ASC standards. Supplier development and interaction have become critical areas of focus, and this role will enhance the department's capacity for data analysis and supplier management. The position will streamline support for the Purchasing Director, allowing for more time on value-added projects while ensuring all supplier assessment and governance activities meet global and local compliance requirements. For the right candidate, this role offers a clear pathway towards developing into a Buyer, with full CIPS accreditation and responsibility for managing purchasing categories. This will ultimately support long-term succession planning within the Purchasing Function. Key Responsibilities: Procurement Efficiency: Streamline procurement processes through data analysis, contract management, and the use of procurement databases (Excel). ASC Compliance: Ensure all traceability reporting is accurate and compliant with ASC standards, supporting BioMar’s sustainability goals. Supplier Approval: Assist with supplier approval processes working with suppliers to ensure full compliance Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of supplier agreements, certifications, and compliance documents, and generate regular reports on procurement activities. Data Analysis: Provide market insights and analysis, supporting procurement decisions and strategies. Collaboration: Work closely with the Purchasing Director and collaborate across departments to optimise procurement processes. Professional Development: Engage in a development plan, with opportunities for training in supplier development and purchasing responsibilities. Audit Assistance: Support internal and external audit processes related to procurement. Sustainability Focus: Play an active role in supporting BioMar’s commitment to sustainable procurement by ensuring compliance with environmental and social governance (ESG) goals. Travel: Occasional travel may be required to meet with suppliers or attend audits. Person Specification: Qualifications: This role is suited for university graduates (in the last 2 years) with an interest in procurement, management, and sustainability. Any degree certification will be considered, however a degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics or Business would be an advantage. Skills: Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and data analysis tools. ERP experience would be an advantage Competencies: Proactive, forward-thinking, intuitive, and skilled at building relationships within and outside of the organisation.
