The Role will consist of:
* Overall responsibility for the effective and efficient operation of the tendering and quotation process inclusive of evaluation, negotiation and recommendation of tenders to appropriate committee
* Providing procurement advice on procurement policy and procedures
* Assisting in the preparation and review of specification and tender documents
* Maintenance of procurement information on systems such as procurement policy, tender opportunities, contracts and contract management policy
* Liaising with external procurement bodies regarding procurement of goods and services
* Developing partnerships with internal and external customers and stakeholders to promote and foster relationships and identify opportunity for continuous development and improvement
* Maintain contract management framework
* Assist in the development, implementation and review of strategic procurement policy
The Person
As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:
Essential:
* At least 3 years relevant procurement experience and hold or be working towards a membership of CIPS OR 4 years relevant procurement experience and willingness to work towards achieving a membership
* Working knowledge of best practise procurement procedures and achieving best value for money
Desirable:
* Experience of working within public sector procurement
