We have an exciting opportunity within Pre Assessment for a Fixed Term post as a Clinic Co-ordinator to cover maternity leave. Secondments will also be considered.
You will assist with the new developments that are coming in the department and play an essential role in streamlining pre-op services and improving the patient journey from Outpatients to their admission for surgery.
Main duties of the job
To provide key administrative support to pre-assessment to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services.
The main duties are:
1. Ensure the triaging of patients' questionnaires runs seamlessly and patients are allocated to the appropriate pre-assessment clinics.
2. Ensure early identification of patients requiring the prehab service and make these bookings.
3. Ensure full utilisation of all pre-assessment clinics and escalate any slot issues.
4. Liaise with the Booked admissions team to support with identifying appointment slots for patients.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good general education to GCSE level including maths and English IT skills.
* NVQ level 3 Business Administration or proven equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
* ECDL or equivalent IT qualification.
Experience
* Previous experience of working in the NHS or similar organisation with direct contact with patients.
* Previous experience of working in a busy office environment.
* Experience of computerised systems within the Trust.
* Experience in managing waiting lists and booking outpatient clinics.
* Experience of contact with the general public within a busy environment.
* Experience of working as part of a team with the ability to work independently.
* Ability to organise and prioritise own workload.
* Excellent telephone manner.
* Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating understanding, care, and compassion to patients and families.
* Experience of dealing with difficult/sensitive/confidential situations.
