We’re looking for a passionate, service-driven Bar & Restaurant Manager to lead our Front of House team and help us deliver unforgettable guest experiences.
The Role:
As Bar & Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth and successful daily operations of the venue. You will lead and inspire the team to deliver exceptional service, ensure brand standards are met, and drive performance to meet business goals. Working closely with the Operations Manager, Head Chef, and Event Manager, you will oversee all bar, restaurant, and event operations, ensuring a positive and inclusive culture for both staff and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
* Foster a culture of exceptional service, ensuring every guest has a welcoming and memorable experience.
* Regularly assess guest satisfaction, address feedback promptly, and implement improvements to enhance the overall guest journey.
* Be a visible and approachable leader, setting the standard for professional and personable service.
People Management:
* Recruit, train, and develop a motivated Front of House team of up to 20 staff, supported by 4 Duty Managers.
* Inspire, support, and develop the Front of House team, creating a positive and high-performing work environment.
* Deliver ongoing training and development plans for all team members.
* Conduct staff inductions, probation reviews, and regular performance check-ins.
* Motivate staff and maintain a positive work environment, deliver excellent guest service and always maintain a high standard of guest profile and atmosphere management.
* Ensure clear communication and smooth handovers between managers to maintain service continuity.
Operational Management:
* Oversee daily operations across bar, restaurant, and event spaces, ensuring smooth service delivery.
* Work alongside the Operations Manager to plan staff rotas to meet service requirements within budget.
* Maintain stock levels, manage orders, and control costs to minimise waste.
* Coordinate with the team to achieve operational goals, supporting service excellence.
* Hold regular briefings and meetings with all heads of departments to create initiatives to grow the business.
* Handle guest enquiries and complaints, resolving issues effectively and professionally.
Compliance & Reporting:
* Ensure compliance with health and safety, licensing, and hygiene regulations.
* Monitor and report on departmental performance, including revenue and costs.
* Ensure that all management, operational, financial and payroll duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
* Work alongside the Operations Manager to ensure all business administration within your team is completed timely, sticking to timelines agreed upon with your line manager.
* Carry out any duties or tasks as reasonably instructed by the company or Operations Manager.
About You:
* Strong knowledge of front and back of house operations including food, beverages, staff supervision, inventory, and food safety.
* Excellent people management and leadership skills, with a track record of motivating teams.
* A proactive approach to guest satisfaction and problem-solving.
* Experience managing budgets, payroll, and revenue forecasting.
* Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
