We have an exciting opportunity for Activities Coordinator to join our friendly and experienced specialist brain injury and neurological care service.
We provide individualised assessment and intensive rehabilitation to help people recover from a brain injury. At all times we work to achieve the best possible outcomes in terms of independence and quality of life.
Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre provides specialist care for up to 46 residents at any one time.
We have a minibus for appointments and some fun outings and a state-of-the-art therapy pool, which allows our residents to focus on re-gaining cognitive abilities that may have been lost. A specially designed therapy kitchen allows users to learn new skills that will serve them long after they have left our care. We also have a gymnasium where all residents are encouraged to keep themselves active and socialise with others.
We are extremely proud to be accredited as an approved provider of specialist Brain Injury Care by the Headway Brain Injury Association.
What you'll be working:
We're flexible, so you'll work a total of ;hours per week
Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
What you'll be doing:
We are looking for an individual who is able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and under their own initiative. The post holder will be responsible for planning, organising and implementing a social, recreational, and leisure activity programme in partnership with our existing Activities Co-ordinators. This will involve individual and group activities within the unit and the wider community.
What you'll have:
1. Candidates will ideally have an interest and experience in running groups.
2. You will understand the value of activity and structure in an acute rehabilitation setting
3. Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
4. Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
