BPAS are looking for a Service Manager (we call them Treatment Unit Manager's here!) to lead our reproductive health services in our Nottingham Cluster.
It doesnt matter if you have a commercial, corporate, or clinical background, you will be able to use your leadership and managements skills to ensure BPAS services are delivered effectively.
The role:
You will be responsible for ensuring the provision of a responsive termination of pregnancy service that is high quality and client-focused by motivating, engaging, and managing clinical and non-clinical staff effectively.
You will actively manage capacity by utilising your team of clinical and non-clinical staff and ensure appointment templates are aligned to facilitate this. You will also work to ensure the services provided at our Nottingham Cluster, including a surgical termination service maintain high standards of client care in line with BPAS policies and procedures.
As the service manager you will also maintain positive relationships with our external stakeholders including local commissioners and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) ensuring the unit is managed in line with regulatory requirements.
Main duties of the job
1. Ensure the delivery of a client-focused, caring, and professional standard of treatment to defined BPAS quality standards and the legislative and regulatory framework.
2. Monitor and investigate client safety incidents and complaints via Datix, reporting outcomes to the Operations and Quality Manager and initiating any necessary action.
3. Participate in the development of annual budgets and monitor and control unit expenditure in line with agreed budgets in order to maximise unit contribution to BPAS finances.
4. Liaise with other units, Operations & Quality Managers and the Booking and Information Centre (BIC) to ensure the best use of appointments and session times, and to work with the Business Development team to secure contracts and maintain business advantage.
5. Ensure the effective monitoring of clinical practitioners performance against clinical guidelines, defined quality standards and BPAS practices and procedures. To initiate remedial action as appropriate.
6. Initiate Duty of Candour contact with clients following any relevant incident, seeking support/direction as needed from the Client Safety Lead and Area Manager.
7. Maintain relevant evidence to demonstrate compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulatory requirements and host inspections from any regulatory bodies such as the CQC, Department of Health and Social Care, Fire Service, Health and Safety Executive.

12. Previous managerial experience managing people and financial resources.
13. Experience in a healthcare setting although highly desirable is not essential
14. Knowledge of relevant legislation, the regulatory framework, along with reproductive health issues.
15. Experience of working with regulatory bodies, CQC and knowledge of Health and Safety
16. HND or Degree, DMS or other post-graduate management qualification

Salary: £42,073 - £50,871 per annum, depending upon skills and experience. There is also a £500 cluster allowance for the satellite unit.
Working Pattern : 36 Hours per week | Flexible during business hours Monday to Friday.
