The Senior Quality Advisor is responsible for providing QA and QC support to all areas of the business across several locations in the UK. Including construction delivery, proposals, procurement, and business services; advising the sites to maintain and improve their processes and facilitate continuous improvement.
Job Description
1. Responsible for Quality related matters on Construction Projects
2. Reports to the QA Manager on progress and issues with Project quality.
3. Provide QA Advice to the Project Team
4. Ensures that Project requirements for quality standards are identified, communicated to all relevant parties, and monitored.
5. Attends, when required, project progress meetings to discuss problems affecting quality and for ensuring that action programmes are agreed and implemented.
6. Prepare, in conjunction with the Project Manager, the project specific QMP and ITP, ensuring that client acceptance is obtained.
7. Audit construction activities for compliance with procedure / quality plan.
8. Review and assist the compilation of the quality section for handover documentation, monitoring progress through to final client acceptance.
9. Monitoring quality related issues, determining root causes and corrective actions determining where improvements to practice are required.
10. Lead and / or support on internal projects as required, in accordance with agreed working practices, appraising the relevant risks, processes and controls to identify opportunities for improvements to the effectiveness and efficiency of Quality.
11. Undertake internal and external quality audits at all stages of the delivery process including at supply chain sites such as FAT’s.
12. Lead Quality incident investigation, reporting, development of corrective actions and track their completion
13. To comply with health and safety legislation, policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post
14. Composing technical documents and procedures for review by the QA manager and Head of Engineering
Qualifications
15. Minimum of three years’ work experience in a quality-based role (Ideally in a civil engineering environment) other regulated sectors are also considered applicable.
16. Experience with codes of practice for quality such as ISO 9001, 14001, 45001
17. Experience with the NCR process
18. Root cause analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone) experience is desirable but not essential.
19. Ability to discuss complex quality issues and with key stakeholders, with the ability to persuade and influence outcomes
20. Good timekeeper
21. Responsible, conscientious, punctual, highly organised, self-motivated and able to work under pressure, both on own initiative and as part of a busy team.
22. A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
