As part of our commitment to patients and delivery of a world class service for all we have created the UHCW Improvement (UHCWi) System in partnership with the Virginia Mason Institute in Seattle; this involves a structured approach to removing waste and putting the patient first using a lean management system and methodologies. Our culture and ways of working reflect and embed the practices and methodologies of UHCWi. You are expected, where identified, to attend and complete relevant training and development opportunities to support this. This may include Lean for Leaders, Advanced Lean Training, and the Human Factors Programme, amongst others. Full attendance and completion of identified courses is considered essential and a prerequisite for this post. Clinical commitments The clinical fellow will provide clinical support to the Department under the aegis of the Clinical Service Lead/Head of Service, Dr K Chaudhuri 1) To contribute and manage the day-to-day clinical activity this involves clinics; result acknowledgement; responding to patient / GP queries, hot clinics, injection clinics, assistance to the Day Case Unit and specialist nurses and any other activity considered appropriate for the role 2) To participate in the regular departmental MDT, QUIPs activities; audit and service development projects 3) To provide once a week on call from 0900-1700 as part of the rota for our resident doctors 4) To develop a subspeciality interest in Connective tissue diseases and vasculitis This is a 0.8 WTE clinical post which should help with working meeting the competency for the rheumatology component of the CCT
