Senior Event Manager & Producer The Role Farnborough International has launched a new and significant venture to develop its standing within the Space sector to marry with the ambitions of our parent company, ADS. This venture into wholly owning operating a space show requires the building of a brand-new team of individuals with the expertise and knowledge of, not only the Space sector, but also of launching and managing new events to market. Consequently, we are looking to recruit a Senior Event Manager and Producer to this new team, sitting within the overall Aerospace Events department. Key to the role will be the research and creation of industry leading and differentiating conference programmes alongside event experiences within the Space sector. Reporting directly into the newly formed Farnborough International Space Show (FISS) Event Director, the successful candidate is expected to continue the development of this new launch for FIL. We are seeking an independent and proactive mindset to allow the FISS Event Director to strategically review the show as it continues its launch into the marketplace. Your KPIs will be set to reflect your broader role within the aerospace events team (and not just space related). Whilst your primary role is as set out below, you are part of the broader Aerospace Events team, and therein there is an expectation that you will support the wider business needs accordingly. The role directly reports to the FISS Event Director (who reports directly into the Assistant Director - Aerospace Events) with two direct reports. The Budget Responsibilities Accountable to the Assistant Director Aerospace Events and FISS Event Director as well as being responsible for monitoring the day to day P&L of the show and undertaking reviews with the Finance team where necessary Prepare and manage regular forecast updates for FISS Event Director, liaising with other departments as necessary Prepare annual budgets for the show, manage ongoing forecasts and propose appropriate budgetary changes for future shows The Skills & Competencies We are looking for an entrepreneurial candidate, with a minimum of 5 years direct experience as a conference producer and event management. The successful candidate with evidence a solid track record in FTF and digital content-led conference production primarily within Aerospace, Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering markets, however candidates with experience in Energy, Mobility and Logistics sectors, would also be an advantage. Superior organisational and project management skills, along with excellent attention to detail Experience and able to evidence planning and launching new, successful events, measured by sales and quality of content.
