Job summary An exciting opportunity has been created for an enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the LD Youth CAMHS team based at Oulton near Lowestoft, Suffolk. We area specialist service forchildren, adolescents and young adults (0-25) with a learning disability where there are concerns about their behaviour, emotional well-being or mental health and whose needs cannot be met in mainstream services. This will be a varied role, whilst the successful candidate will be a non-medical prescriber, the role will bring a host exciting responsibilities and challenges. They offer clinical leadership to our nursing team and provide support to our MDT and hold a small case load of complex cases. To help further enhance service user experience they will support in undertaking clinical audits, to help drive positive change. The successful candidate will be required to travel as part of the post therefore a full driving license and access to a car is essential. Main duties of the job Joining the clinical leadership team and working as part of the MDT, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning and implementing appropriate treatment to young people who access our service. With your professional judgement and expertise, this may also require medication reviews. There will be the expectation to liaise with other agencies, including paediatric services, education and social care, who may also be providing support to the young people who are in your care. The successful applicant will also offer opportunities for clinical supervision and consultation to the team's nurses and wider MDT and have involvement in developing the service we provide.
