My client, is currently seeking a Head of Finance for their Ilminster site. This is fantastic opportunity for a candidate to join a company with multi sites across the world and work a 36 hour working week over 4 days This role is office based so you must be situated within commuting distance Key Duties and Responsibilities Build Stakeholder confidence in DMJ by aligning and synchronizing Financial and Business Planning processes. Contribute strongly to the definition and execution of Business Strategy as it is developed by the DIBE Senior Management Team. Provide line management and leadership of the Finance team. Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback Restructuring the Finance team, to ensure job allocations are correct, provide training and clarity, for individuals roles. Maintain, control and optimise the ERP system for all financial and business processes. Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations, whilst continuing to review and update. Prepare timely monthly management accounts for DIBE and DME in accordance with accounting policies, review and submit results to DMJ through the monthly reporting package. Ensure DMJ deadlines are always met. Prepare and submit to DMJ quarterly consolidated financial accounts with notes for DIBE and DME, utilising the Stravis system. Respond to queries from group accounts and audit. Manage company cash flow through monitoring transactions and by creating analysis to provide projections to improve cash management in the company. Provide finance team guidance and direction on how to improve reporting information, timely and context. Provide guidance on how to improve the cashflow situations that arise and ensure concise planning, to enable us to manage within our cash limitations. Prepare annual budget, reporting variances and support managers with corrective plans. Provide SMT with budgets on a departmental level. Control of international VAT- import, duty, fiscal representation, Intrastat returns and EU sales listing Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed and reported. This includes sales, purchases and all ledgers. Manage Credit Control ensuring there are customer credit checks, setting credit limits, monitoring of aged debts and collection of outstanding amounts. Manage Finance team routine activities including payroll generation, staff expenses, P11Ds, PAYE settlement agreements and reconciliations. Ensuring adhere to HMRC regulations. Providing technical support and advice to all on site companies for VAT, and PAYE. Develop and improve financial systems and management information. Prepare annual statutory accounts in conjunction with the auditors Manage annual audit for DIBE and DME. Provide and analyse information for corporation tax returns to the Companys external advisors Introduce and maintain control of CAPEX financial process including the Fixed Asset Register Review monthly customer sales report and monitor customer profitability. Re-establish financial internal controls across the business and maintain a culture of process improvement. Review all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies. Review, amend, provide and maintain the Accounting Policy and J-SOX documentation and ensure policies adhered to within the businesses. Maintain trust and effectively co-ordinate, communicate and manage relationships with external auditors, advisors, insurers, banks and suppliers. Take a lead role in costing & forecasting to ensure there is consistency and data accuracy throughout the process. Develop and Install an integral overheads costing system, linked into the budget and cross analysed to the actuals in the accounts. Maintain professional knowledge through continuing professional development activities. Person Spec Qualifications/Education standards and level of skills CIMA/ACCA qualified Knowledge and Skills Essential A qualified Accountant with significant experience in fulfilling the complete range of financial management processes An understanding of the complexities of finance management within an international Group is preferred, ideally with some experience within the manufacturing sector and foreign currency transactions. A strong IT skill set is essential including previous experience of Information Systems Management, in which you will have gained knowledge of ERP system implementation and optimisation Strong communication and interpersonal skills Crtitical thinking, sound problem solving skills, analytical skills and use of initiative. Experience in effectively managing a small team Strong personal organisation skills are required with experience in meeting regular accounting deadlines.
