We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced individual for the role of Cloud, Infrastructure and Security Lead in the ICT & Digital Transformation Team. The ICT & Digital Transformation team mission is to provide digital systems that are customer focused, easy to use, reliable, flexible, and meet the needs of all our stakeholders.
About the role
The successful candidate will lead the Cloud, Infrastructure and Security team in the ICT & Digital Transformation department.
You will take overall responsibility for ensuring that there is effective second & third line support to the highest possible standard across the range of technical infrastructure, network, security and end user compute services.
This includes the following responsibilities:
* Take charge of a well-established cloud, infrastructure and security team, leading hybrid-working teams and fostering collaboration.
* Forming part of the groups change advisory board and technical design authority.
* Working closely with the architecture team to help design, develop and deliver innovative software solutions to meet business needs.
* Making key project decisions to set clarity and focus for the team as well as supporting the ICT & DT strategy.
* Support the delivery of technical solutions where necessary to ensure projects and technical implementations stays on track.
You will work as part of a wider ICT management team that designs and executes the department strategy as well as providing effective leadership and acts as a role model for the department and the Karbon group.
About you
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
o Proven experience in cyber security governance including the prevention, detection and response.
o A strong understanding or experience of agile methodology
o Extensive working knowledge of at least two of the following, cloud platforms including Azure IaaS, Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Entra ID, virtualisation technologies, secure mobile endpoint management, cyber security protection and networking solutions such as SIEM and SDWAN.
o A record of demonstrable knowledge in translating business requirements into technical solutions, testing and deployment of those specifically in End User Compute, Networking and Infrastructure and Cyber Security areas
o Experience of collaborating and working as part of an effective team
o Strong Communication Skills (Translating of Colleague Requirements)
o Evidence of continuing professional development
You may also need to collaborate with suppliers where necessary to drive change.

+ Salary is £51,388 per annum
+ Contractual Location to be agreed with the candidate at one of our main offices in Gosforth or Stanley, although we work flexibly.
+ Regular travel will be required
+ 37 Hours per week with some homeworking available/flexible working
