Hours: 6.5 Hours a week

3.5 hours (7 x 30 minute morning calls).
3 hours (1.5 hours over 2days) to attend the gym.

Rates of Pay: £13.50 per hour.

About the Job:
The purpose of this role is to provide support to a gentleman who has suffered from strokes which has affected his mobility.
The aim is to have someone come in the mornings for 30 minutes to support him with everyday activities such as, but not limited to, personal care when required, preparing a meal for lunch, washing dishes, taking out recycling and tasks around the home. To use 1.5 hours over 2 days to help and support the gentleman with attending the gym to increase his strength, mobility and appetite as advised by physio.
This support will help him to live independently within his own home for as long as possible.
Responsible to: Directly to the employer
Main Tasks
Provide support in the mornings and with attending the gym as stated above.
To help with daily tasks around the home.
Any other duties which may fall within the scope of this role, to be discussed and mutually agreed.
Person Specification:
Be a support to the gentleman in all aspects of his daily life.
Hold a full driving licence. Should you be required to use your own vehicle for work purposes, you would be required to provide evidence of insurance for business cover.
Understand boundaries between employer and employee.
Establish a professional standard of care.
Undertake the role with due regard to the gentleman’s physical, social and psychological needs.
Previous experience is desirable but not essential.
Respect the privacy of the family and always uphold confidentiality.
Be punctual and reliable and have a flexible attitude.
Ensure that due consideration is always given to Health and Safety.
Special Conditions
A Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) and two satisfactory references will be required for the post. This is a free and confidential process.
