A research assistant position is available in the Luginbuehl group funded by the ERC Starting Grant "Harnessing mechanisms for plant carbon delivery to symbiotic soil fungi for sustainable food production". This project explores carbon transfer in the arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis with the aim to optimize symbiotic nutrient exchange in the model crop rice. The post is available at 50% for two years in the first instance, with the possibility of further extension. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the team. The candidate will generate stable transformants of rice and other plant species and will be involved in plant management and maintenance as well as molecular biology experiments.
