The Team
The Commercial Operations team ensures that all Commercials, Teleshopping and Sponsorship schedules are scheduled correctly and meet all compliance requirements.
The team is responsible for working with the sales team and creative agencies to ensure campaigns are booked and scheduled correctly to maximize commercial revenue. We ensure that the schedule complies with the BCAP code, checking for commercial clashes and restrictions across all ITV channels including ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4, and ITV Be. The team makes sure the commercial schedules are logged post transmission and sent to BARB.
The Role
As a Commercial Operations Senior Scheduler, you are responsible for ensuring commercial information is full, accurate, and incorporated into the schedule within the required time-scales, working with a cross-functional team and the wider department. You will also assist the Commercial Ops Managers with the coordination and development of the Commercial Ops Schedulers and will be on call every six weeks to provide out of hours support.
This will involve:
1. Chasing and Scheduling rotation instructions for commercials upon receiving a sales booking
2. Reconciling commercial information by matching rotation instructions from an Agency to a sales campaign (by specified criteria)
3. Monitoring and Uploading Caria and emailed instructions from Agencies
4. Validating the commercial schedule against Agency requirements
5. Resolving any consequent problems or errors
6. Complying the schedule by meeting regulatory and other scheduling requirements using ASA and BCAP information
7. Ensuring the finalised transmission schedule considers all sales, broadcaster and copy requirements
8. Ensuring all commercial material is delivered to Transmission within required timescales
9. Performing slot dependent compliance for the junction items in the context of the schedule
10. Liaising with Compliance to assess whether news stories will affect the suitability of certain commercials scheduled in and around the News
11. Re-sequencing the commercial items if required
12. Updating the sales scheduling systems with discrepancies between planned and transmitted schedules to ensure a complete record of what was actually broadcasted
13. Post transmission, ensuring all spots have the correct transmission time applied and addressing any failures in transmission
14. Reporting on the transmitted schedule to internal and external parties
15. KPI Reporting to the Commercial Ops Managers
16. Escalating any issues to the Commercial Ops Managers where appropriate
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)
1. Proven knowledge of all processes involved in the completion of commercial transmission schedules, covering copy scheduling, transmission schedule validation and compliance, post transmission and system administration.
2. Vast experience within a Commercial Scheduling environment
3. Ability to direct, motivate and train staff
4. Ability to suggest new processes and system functionality to improve efficiency and accuracy
5. Ability to communicate effectively and represent a department when required
6. Ability to maintain excellent working relations both internal and external
7. Accurate and numerate
8. Excellent organisational skills
9. Able to work accurately under pressure
10. Enthusiasm; someone who is self-motivated and a team player
