We are looking to appoint a flexible and well-organised person to provide administrative and clerking support to the Governing Body of Lytchett Minster School. The postholder will be responsible for drafting agendas, recording minutes, maintaining records and advising the Governing Body on constitutional matters. There are currently a minimum of 6 meetings per term, this equates to 230 hours per year. Additional hours may be required during the year, which can be claimed separately. The meetings are scheduled in advance and are normally held late afternoon (4.30pm start) or early evening at the school, although there may be an occasional requirement for you to attend a meeting during the school day. Whilst this is a permanent post, payment will be made a month in arrears on a pay-to-claim basis.The ideal candidate will have 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths at grade C or 5 or above. Relevant office experience and up-to-date ICT skills are essential. A high level of confidentiality is a pre-requisite of this role. The postholder would be expected to attend appropriate training and briefing meetings and keep up-to-date with current educational changes and legislation affecting governance. Knowledge of school clerking would be an advantage although training would be provided where necessary. Lytchett Minster is a successful 11-18 mixed comprehensive school with approximately 1604 students, 316 of whom are in the successful sixth form. The learning environment is stunning with extensive and beautiful grounds; the school site is comprised of South Lytchett Manor House together with a number of modern extensions including the Arts block and theatre.
