Job Description
The primary purpose of this role is to develop and implement the System Integration and Test, Verification and Validation (IVVQ) strategy, management, and tasks for key business projects across various domains.
As a System Integration, Verification, Validation, and Qualification Manager (IVVQM) and member of the Central Systems Engineering Team in Thales UK, you will focus on delivering solutions to diverse customers within our Civil and Military domains. This may involve:
* Supporting less experienced IVVQ Managers in planning and executing IVVQ/ITEA activities
* Acting as the IVVQ Manager on specific projects with short secondments or extended loans
* Supporting one or more projects across multiple domains, encompassing Land, Sea, and Air products
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
You will be accountable to the UK Head of IVVQ (Discipline & Capability) Manager and/or the Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM) for the project/program being supported.
As an expert in IVVQ and ITEA, your responsibilities will include:
* Leading System Integration, Verification, Validation activities on behalf of Thales for Complex programs, including working with the customer
* Preparing the IVVQA plan, work schedule, and System IVV organisational breakdown structure
* Managing the System IVV team to conduct System IVV according to schedule
* Liaising with project/bid managers, requirements leads, and customers to ensure IVVQ/ITEA integration into the planning process
* Preparing System Integration Verification, Validation, and Qualification activities
* Defining IVVQ strategy, establishing related requirements, and performing estimates and schedules
* Specifying and managing test equipment acquisition, including special-to-type test equipment
* Choosing and deploying methodologies, tools/platforms necessary for IVVQ and acceptance activities
* Proposing IVVQ scenarios and managing their implementation
* Planning, coordinating, and managing all System IVVQ activities for assigned programs
* Establishing priorities, identifying risks, and reporting on associated issues
* Reviewing suppliers' test plans and testing at manufacturer sites or customer premises
* Supporting trials teams and analyzing results to produce technical reports
* Working in multidisciplinary teams and providing guidance to development projects
* Leading and producing product IVVQ plans, maximizing automated test methods for efficiency
* Reviewing technical artefacts from an IVVQ perspective
* Operationally leading Systems IVVQ Engineering Teams and ensuring delivery of IVVQ work products
* Maintaining IVVQ metrics for progress reporting and decision-making
* Organizing and leading defect sentencing for correct issue prioritization
* Coordinating governance reviews for the IVVQ phase of system development
* Supporting customer meetings and leading system demonstrations
* Collecting evidence for system validation, acceptance, and certification
Experience and Skills
This role requires:

5. A proven record of working on all aspects of Systems IVVQ and in Systems IVV environments
6. Experience generating and executing test cases to verify systems
7. RCA of observed problems
8. Self-motivation and ability to work alone or within teams
