The Centre for Culture, Ethnicity & Health (CEH) is dedicated to improving health equity and accessibility for people from migrant and refugee backgrounds. We provide expertise in cultural diversity and health, cross-cultural communication, and health literacy, helping organisations deliver more inclusive services.
CEH works with hospitals, government agencies, councils, and community organisations across Australia, offering training, social marketing, tailored resources, and expert advice to enhance engagement with diverse communities.
About the Role
Are you looking for a role where you can make a meaningful impact on culturally responsive healthcare? Do you enjoy working on projects that improve health equity and community outcomes?
As a Project Officer at the Centre for Culture, Ethnicity & Health (CEH), you will play a key role in developing a toolkit to help Primary Health Networks (PHNs) commission culturally responsive health services. You will work closely with multicultural communities, national PHN committees, and service providers to create innovative resources and best-practice solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct desktop reviews, consultations, and focus groups with key stakeholders.
* Work closely with national PHN committees and project funders to drive project outcomes.
* Manage and facilitate a national advisory group to guide project development.
* Design and develop toolkits, written content, and manage graphic/web design components.
* Support CEH-wide initiatives, including training delivery, grant applications, and project collaborations.
* Represent CEH in networks, social media, and key community partnerships.
About You
Do you have a passion for health equity and cultural diversity? Are you a proactive, collaborative, and creative thinker who thrives in project-based work?
We’re looking for someone with:
* A relevant qualification in public health, community development, community health, or social research.
* Minimum two years’ experience in project development, implementation, and evaluation within the community and primary health sector.
* Strong social research skills, including qualitative research, community consultation, and desktop reviews.
* Proven ability to work with government agencies, health services, and CALD communities.
* Deep understanding of health literacy, cultural competence, and equity frameworks.
* Experience in project management, resource development, and stakeholder engagement (desirable).
* Lived experience of migration or strong community networks (desirable).
