We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Finance Technician to support our Head of Finance and contribute to the success of our business. About the Role As a Senior Finance Technician, you will work closely with the Head of Finance, taking on a variety of responsibilities to keep the department running efficiently. You’ll also provide leadership within the team, stepping in to manage operations when the Head of Finance is unavailable. This role offers a dynamic blend of hands-on financial tasks and team coordination, making it ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a positive, proactive attitude. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Finance Technician and Finance Assistant to ensure the department operates seamlessly, delegating tasks as necessary. Assist the Head of Finance with critical projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Manage the Sales, Purchase, and Nominal ledgers. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal queries and external third-party stakeholders. Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports using XRL, Opera, Excel, and Access. Support the preparation and publication of monthly financial statements, journal entries, and financial reconciliations. Oversee daily bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records. Prepare and submit ONS returns. Assist with the Goods In process, including currency forecasting, costing, and processing purchase and freight invoices. Maintain and update stock costings. Provide training and support to other members of the finance team. Perform other tasks and duties to support the department as required. What We’re Looking For Qualifications: AAT Level 4 is preferred, but candidates with equivalent experience will also be considered. Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access. Experience with accounting software and administrative tasks. Knowledge of Payroll (advantageous). Experience with importing goods and managing overseas supplier communication (helpful). Attributes: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
