AA Euro Group are working with a leading Main Contractor and looking for a Electrical Lead to join their team for a new Data Centre Project in Wales.
Role Overview:
The Electrical Lead will be responsible for overseeing the electrical systems on a large-scale Data Centre project, ensuring their design, installation, and commissioning are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. This role involves close coordination with design teams, subcontractors, and the client, ensuring the integration and performance of all electrical systems required for a mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Electrical Lead, your primary role will be to manage the electrical installations, ensuring seamless coordination with other MEP services. You will oversee the electrical systems from design through to handover, ensuring they meet project specifications and client requirements. Working closely with the design and construction teams, you will review technical drawings, address any design issues, and ensure electrical systems are fully integrated with the overall project.
You will lead the site team, managing subcontractors and supervising the installation of electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, and backup power solutions. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards will be critical, and you will carry out regular inspections and quality checks throughout the project.
In this role, you will also ensure the timely procurement of materials and equipment, while managing costs to ensure that electrical works remain within budget. Close collaboration with the commissioning team will be necessary to guarantee that all electrical systems are tested, operational, and ready for handover to the client.
Key Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a significant portion of that in mission-critical or large-scale construction projects, such as data centres. A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required, along with professional membership in a recognized institution (e.g., IET, CIBSE).
You must demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead a site team and coordinate effectively with other project stakeholders. A thorough understanding of electrical systems in data centres, including power distribution and redundancy, is essential. Familiarity with BIM, commissioning procedures, and up-to-date electrical regulations is highly desirable
