Quality Improvement Education Officer - Schools

Salary: £73, - £81,
Hours: 36 per week
To provide strategic leadership and contribute to raising standards and achievement in attainment, inclusion and equality in line with local and national priorities.
Work with the Head of Education and Quality Improvement Managers to provide professional and management advice to Schools and Establishments and be accountable for the management, co-ordination and development of the service in the locality.
Ensure that the settings meet statutory obligations and required service standards to maximise the potential of children and their families ensuring that the Council satisfies HMIE criteria on performance monitoring and continuous improvement and other statutory obligations.
Contribute to the achievement of the overall aims and objectives of the department and implementation of national policy priorities through effective leadership, consultation and communication.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
Contract is 52 weeks with annual leave entitlement (not linked to school holidays) and the salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
