These are just a few reasons to click apply on this great opportunity for a Maintenance Shift Team Manager to work at the company's manufacturing plant in Bury. The business has produced construction materials and products for both construction and home improvement markets for over 100 years.
The site is a heavy manufacturing plant, a great environment to keep our engineers challenged with a range of material and aggregate processing, mixing, conveying, and some heavy pressing equipment.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead a small shift team in the delivery of site production plans through ensuring optimum availability, performance, and ongoing improvement of site machinery, plant, and systems.
2. Manage adherence to all health and safety requirements.
3. Contribute to site maintenance planning activities through our CMMS system.
4. Support engineering stores personnel to ensure the availability of engineering spares for maintenance plan delivery.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Experienced people manager with proven experience in supporting the development and improvement of maintenance colleagues.
2. Mechanical bias with appreciation of electrical maintenance.
3. Excellent fault-finding skills.
4. Qualified, time-served apprentice trained in a mechanical engineering discipline (ideally to NVQ level 3, HND, or similar).
5. Proven experience of leading, motivating, and developing small maintenance teams.
6. Experience of automated, fast-paced manufacturing environments.
7. Experience in hydraulics & pneumatics.
8. Recognised safety training (e.g., IOSH or NEBOSH).
9. Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Engineering Best Practice systems & processes would be beneficial.
