Family Paralegal/Legal Secretary – Leeds Office
We are seeking a permanent, full-time Family Paralegal/Legal Secretary for our busy Leeds office to join our expanding team.
Your Profile: You will preferably:
* Have some experience working as a legal secretary or paralegal, ideally within family and childcare law.
* Demonstrate a genuine interest in Family law.
* Possess strong organisational skills.
* Have the ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
* Display fast and accurate typing skills.
* Exhibit clear and precise written and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will:
* Provide the highest level of client care in the management of client matters.
* Offer administrative and legal support to Fee Earners and Senior Team Members.
* Type from digital dictation or copy typing to produce accurate documentation.
* Manage files effectively, including electronic filing and compliance with office procedures.
* Attend clients to take notes, as well as liaise with internal and external parties such as local authorities, Police, medical professionals, Courts, and experts.
* Assist with preparing Court bundles, including collating and redacting large documents.
* Complete public funding applications and manage CCMS legal aid matters.
* Keep appointment diaries for Fee Earners and arrange meetings as required.
* Handle telephone calls and correspondence with clients, Counsel, and other third parties professionally.
* Process fee notes, expert invoices, and other administrative tasks as needed.
* Ensure adherence to the firm’s practice manual and compliance protocols.
