Maintenance Technician - Halifax
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to play a key role in maintaining, improving, and ensuring the safe operation of our client's chemical manufacturing plant that produces ingredients for personal care products.
Job Details:
* Location: Halifax
* Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum DOE
* Working hours: Monday – Thursday, 07:30 – 16:00; Friday 07:30 – 15:00
* On call: 1 in 4 weeks, paid minimum 4 hours per call-out, with time in lieu for bank holiday on-call cover

Responsibilities:
* Carrying out reactive and planned maintenance across pumps, vessels, tanks, motors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, and more
* Diagnosing breakdowns and executing repairs to maximise equipment uptime
* Supporting continuous improvement and process optimisation
* Maintaining high housekeeping standards and contributing to a positive 5S culture
* Updating maintenance records, root cause analyses, and risk assessments
Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 3 / ONC / HNC / City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
* Mechanical experience in chemical manufacturing or a similar high-volume environment is preferred
* Solid understanding of lean manufacturing, quality control tools, and H&S legislation
* Comfortable working with legacy systems during site modernisation
