An opportunity to be an Accounts Assistant for a service business based in Birmingham. It’s a long-running company which works with a wide variety of clients in their field.
Main Duties:
As an Accounts Assistant, your main duties include:
* Processing supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
* Preparation and process of payment runs.
* Reconciliation of supplier statements, resolving any discrepancies.
* Monitoring customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
* Conducting credit checks on new customers and setting appropriate credit limits.
* Chasing overdue invoices via phone, email, and letters.
* Negotiating payment plans and terms with customers when necessary.
* Preparation of regular reports on aged debtors and credit control activities.
* Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
* Other ad hoc tasks as required.
