About the Company:
Our client is a well-established manufacturing business based in Newmarket, known for delivering high-quality products. With a small, close-knit team, they are seeking a dedicated and proactive Accountant to join their business and play a key role in their financial operations.
Role Overview:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated Accountant to take ownership of the entire accounts function in a standalone role. You will report directly to the Managing Director and be an integral part of the team. The role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to make a significant impact within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company.
2. Preparation and review of monthly management accounts.
3. Budgeting and forecasting to assist in financial planning.
4. Liaise with auditors to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
5. Processing of payroll, VAT returns, and general ledger entries.
6. Ensure all financial records are accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
7. Handle accounts payable and receivable processes.
8. Assist with cash flow management and financial reporting to senior management.
9. Support the Managing Director with strategic decision-making through detailed financial analysis.
Key Requirements:
1. Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
2. Experience within a similar standalone or small team accounting role, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
3. Proficiency in Sage software.
4. Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
6. Strong communication skills and ability to liaise internally as well as externally.
