Description As a Fire Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing a variety of fire & life safety assets, policies and process's across Heathrow Airport. Responsibilities Oversee Fire Detection Systems, Fire Suppression Systems, smoke ventilation systems, life safety systems, building fabric and structure, fire engineering, personal safety equipment, permitry, and change control systems Benchmark proposals against Heathrow and British Standards Provide fire-related technical support to operational and project teams, and specialist engineering support to development and maintenance teams Develop and Implement: Robust asset management plans and strategies, ensuring effective solutions, and evaluate asset performance against life cycles, performance metrics, and risk assessments Drive continuous improvement plans to enhance asset performance and availability, and support project teams with technical queries related to rail control systems & signalling assets in the sub-surface environment Engage in a learning environment with opportunities to influence safety culture and practices, and provide early stage technical design input. Qualifications Degree in Fire Engineering or a related field, and or equivalent experience. Or a relevant BSc/ BEng/ MSc/ MEng or equivalent (in mechanical, chemical, aeronautical engineering or physics) Strong knowledge and experience in maintenance and management practices Understanding of relevant and applicable national regulations and standards Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive continuous improvement Demonstrable safety leadership Ideally, you'll also be or working towards: Eng Tech or IEng registration with the Engineering Council
