This is a great opportunity for an Applied Psychologist or Psychological Therapist who wants to be part of a new and developing service. The Family Safeguarding team takes a multi-disciplinary approach to working with families and includes Children and Families Social Workers and Family Support Practitioners, working alongside Adult Specialist Workers to help and support in relation to issues associated with parental domestic abuse, substance misuse and mental ill-health.
We are looking for a band 7 Applied Psychologist or Psychological Therapist to join this team. You must have relevant experience in the field of adult mental health and be skilled at delivering evidence-based group and individual psychological interventions. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work with multi - agency partners. You will be line managed by the Principal Applied Psychologist working within the Family Safeguarding Team and also have links with the adult mental health psychology services.
Working with the Principal Clinical Psychological within the Family Safeguarding Team, you will support the delivery of psychological interventions and psychologically informed practice. You will provide direct clinical work including specialist psychological assessments, formulations, groups and individual therapy, and offer supervision, training and reflective practice to staff within the service.
Main duties of the job
To provide a trauma informed psychological service to individuals and the wider family who are being supported by / receiving a service from the Family Safeguarding Team. The post holder will work as part of a multi-professional team within the Family Safeguarding Team to support and facilitate the co-production of bespoke formulation driven psychological interventions.
To provide psychological assessments, formulations and interventions and prioritise their own clinical workload. At the same time providing expert advice and consultation on psychological care to all members of the Family Safeguarding Team.
To work as an autonomous, independent practitioner responsible for own work and intervention and for the interpretation of agreed guidelines and policies in providing a psychological therapies service, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the clinical team.
To demonstrate an attitude which respects and values patients and their carers and the core values of the trust: Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
To provide clinical and professional supervision and support for other practitioners within the family safeguarding team for which the post holder has designated professional responsibility, including the identification of CPD needs.

Qualifications
* Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 as accredited by the BPS, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology. AND HCPC Registration
* OR
* DCounsPsy with HCPC Registration
* OR
* RMN, Dip SW, Dip OT or BSc OT.
* PLUS
* Accreditation by an appropriate psychotherapy organisation e.g. BABCP, UKCP, ACAT.
* OR
* Qualification from High Intensity IAPT Course Post Graduate Diploma
* PLUS
