Assess Act as scrub nurse for full range of surgical procedures performed within the department.
Patients’ suitability for discharge from the clinical area, giving appropriate instructions for post-operative care and liaising with community teams if required.
Remove skin graft dressings and sutures, assessing wounds and providing appropriate aftercare advice.
Assist with Laser treatments and clinics.
Assist in Photodynamic therapy treatment.
Give advice on the telephone to patients regarding laser treatment and minor surgery
Participate in research and practice research based care.
Be aware of current issues and changes that arise from these.
Participate in the Clinical Governance Agenda.
Attend and contribute to inter and intra departmental meetings.
Demonstrate a positive public relations image.
Provide feedback to all staff from any study sessions attended.
Maintain effective lines of communication to ensure continuity of care, and passage of information.
Be a supportive, active member of the departmental team.
Liaise, plan and co-operate with the multi-disciplinary team.
Be aware of your own learning needs and work with the Department Manager towards resolving them.
