About you… We are seeking a confident and reliable individual who can effectively understand, interpret, present and communicate data and information for the benefit of others. You will be passionate about working with a diverse range of borough residents and partners to support renewable energy projects and engagement activities that will positively impact the borough. You will be motivated, well-organised, possess excellent communication skills and have a genuine interest in climate change. Prior knowledge of the specific impacts of domestic housing or energy use on climate change would be beneficial. About the team… We are a small, dedicated team committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions across the borough. Our main focus is identifying and reporting on projects that lower our carbon footprint, widely sharing the positive work we are doing, supporting our partners in mitigating the impacts of climate change and accessing / securing grant funding through effective bids. Together, we are working on making Bracknell Forest a new-zero carbon borough. Key responsibilities Contribute to the delivery of the council’s Climate Change Strategy by implementing and supporting sustainable energy and climate engagement projects. Coordinate and support domestic retrofit projects and community energy initiatives and assist with corporate estate decarbonisation projects and local energy planning. Develop and coordinate climate engagement initiatives, supporting community organisations and groups as well as council staff with the development of climate education and climate action projects.
