Due to the retirement of the current post holder, we are seeking a dedicated and innovative Allied Health Professional to join the IrisCare Group team as our new Head of Therapies.
Therapy provision is key to the services we deliver to the people we support. This role is critical to our ability to deliver in line with our organisational values: person-centred, partnership, compassion, empowerment, and quality of care. We are lucky to have outstanding existing teams of AHP staff representing occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, and dietetics across the organisation.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone with experience in therapies provision in the area of learning disability and/or mental health. You will be overseeing the professional support, management, supervision, and development of teams of AHPs across our three hospital sites, our specialist educational college, and our 17 residential sites (with planned development of at least two more residential sites in 2025). You'll have an allocated base but will need to be mobile across sites, mainly in South Wales, but, dependent on commissioning, also in the Bristol area. You will also provide AHP support and guidance to the organisation's overall clinical governance and clinical ethics processes.

Job responsibilities
To provide organisational level leadership for registered Allied Health Professionals providing clinical services within IrisCare Group, encompassing, dependent on staff deployment:
* Occupational Therapists
* Speech and Language Therapists
* Physiotherapists
* Arts and Drama Therapists
To hold accountability for the identification of the quality of delivery and the clinical outcomes of clinical services provided by AHPs across Iris Care Group. To advise on areas of shortfall and to work within Clinical Directorate processes to monitor the effectiveness of AHP service provision.
To provide a specialist consultation and treatment resource across the group in clinical areas relevant to the professional practice of the Allied Health Profession of the postholder, holding a caseload of appropriate patients.

Qualifications
* Qualification conferring current HCPC registration as one of the following allied health professionals:
* Occupational Therapist
* Speech and Language Therapist
* Physiotherapist
* Art Psychotherapist
* Music Therapist
* Specialist post qualification training in a clinical area relevant to mental health and/or learning disability care provision.
* Leadership and Management qualification.
* Formal Qualification in Positive Behaviour Support.

£57,295 to £67,241 a year dependent on experience; we will consider applications above.
