Maths Teacher Location: Burnley Contract Type: Full-time, until the end of the academic year Salary: Dependent on skills and experience About the Role: As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for: - Delivering high-quality Maths lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4, focusing on creating engaging and accessible lessons for all students. - Supporting students who may have experienced disruption in their education, ensuring that they receive the individualised support they need to succeed. - Using creative and adaptable teaching methods to cater to students with diverse learning needs. - Collaborating with other staff to develop tailored interventions and strategies to support both academic progress and personal development. - Maintaining clear and effective communication with parents and carers, and contributing to students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs). - Fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued and encouraged. About the Provision: Our Alternative Provision offers an alternative to traditional education for students who require additional support due to behavioural, emotional, or learning challenges. With smaller class sizes and a more flexible approach to teaching, our focus is on providing a nurturing environment where students can regain confidence, develop essential skills, and re-engage with their learning. You will play a vital role in helping students rebuild their academic foundations while supporting their personal growth. About You: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. A strong understanding of the Maths curriculum at Key Stage 3 and 4. Experience teaching in an alternative provision or similar setting is desirable, but not essential. A commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment and the ability to engage students who may have faced barriers to learning. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and their families. A proactive, empathetic, and patient approach to teaching.
