Job Summary: We aim to assist students with their personal journey through education by offering emotional well-being and behaviour support strategies to improve their overall attendance, growth, and engagement. We are seeking dedicated Behaviour Practitioners to join our team. The ideal candidates will have experience working with children, especially those with challenging behaviour, and possess strong communication skills. This role involves educating and supporting individuals with behavioural challenges, understanding triggers, mindset, and helping to change outlooks and reactions. The goal is to give a positive restorative approach and leave a lasting impact on students’ educational careers with continuation packages. Additionally, this role aims to increase engagement and attendance within school hours for lessons and the school timetable, supporting young people in the classroom environment and finding coping strategies for everyone.
Duties:
1. Individual Support: Provide one-on-one support to young people, focusing on their mental health, emotional well-being, and educational engagement.
2. Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour management strategies to help young people cope with and overcome challenging behaviours.
3. Mentoring and Guidance: Offer guidance and mentorship to young people, helping them develop coping mechanisms, social skills, and a positive mindset.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with educators, mental health professionals, and families to create a cohesive support network for each young person.
5. Assessment and Planning: Conduct assessments to understand the needs of each young person and develop personalised support plans.
6. Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and intervention during crises or emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of the young people.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and incidents, and provide regular reports to the management team.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with young people with challenging behaviours, mental health issues, or in an educational setting.
* Understanding of behaviour management techniques, mental health issues, and educational engagement strategies.
* Strong communication, empathy, patience, and the ability to build rapport with young people.
* Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
* DBS on the update service.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in mental health first aid, crisis intervention, and safeguarding level 3.
