Orthopaedic Medical Secretary
Location: Mount Stuart Hospital, Torquay
Hours: hours per week

Summary:
Mount Stuart Hospital is one of Devon's leading private hospitals with an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare treatments and services. The hospital opened in 1984 and has 26 bedrooms all with en suite facilities to ensure complete privacy.
By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services. The fully equipped ultra clean air theatre suite is particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures offered such as arthroscopy, hip, knee and ankle replacements.
The role:
Mount Stuart Hospital are seeking to appoint highly motivated and professional individuals to join our Medical Secretary Team. The successful candidates will be expected to offer a comprehensive and varied secretarial service to Consultants.
What you’ll do:
1. Provide high quality, personal secretarial services
2. Audio typing
3. Responsible for: hospital bookings, diary management, office management, invoicing and accounting as required
4. Maintain confidential patient records
5. Liaise regularly with internal and external customers
6. Resolve patient queries, whether personal or via the phone or email
7. Support differentiation initiatives
8. Answering of telephones and general office duties
What you’ll bring with you:
9. Educated to GCSE level or equivalent – (English Language essential)
10. Previous medical secretarial experience and/or knowledge of medical terminology
11. To be able to work on own initiative
12. Excellent computer skills - attention to detail and ability to proof read and touch type
13. Excellent word processing and audio skills – ability to auto type consultants dictation records
14. Sound written and verbal communication skills
15. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
16. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
17. Excellent customer service skills
