Overview
Nights Monday to Friday 9pm to 5am, £17.25 per hour plus £200 Shift Allowance per Week.
All over time is at Time and a half after 40 hours.
We are seeking skilled Train Painters to join our clients team at Crewe. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in painting Trains and an understanding of various techniques and materials. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. The Painter will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring that all work meets our high standards.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or imperfections.
- Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using spray equipment.
- Mix paints and other materials according to specifications.
- Ensure that all work areas are kept clean and organised during the painting process.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Perform basic maths to calculate quantities of materials needed for each job.
- Assemble and fabricate components as required for specific projects.
- Demonstrate knowledge to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the painting process.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.
Requirements
- Proven experience in painting trains is essential.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to the trade.
- Basic maths skills for measuring and calculating material requirements.
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for understanding equipment operation and maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a warehouse environment.
