Technical Project Manager Contract Duration: 12-18 months Office Location: Leeds (Hybrid – 80% remote, 1x/week onsite during critical phases) Job Type: Contract Join our team as a Technical Project Manager and lead the pilot rollout of smart carts n large UK based supermarket retailer. This role involves significant stakeholder management, acting as Instacart’s UK lead, and interfacing with the supermarkets and third-party vendors. You will collaborate with US-based engineers and local teams, providing technical oversight in architecture and API integrations. Day-to-day of the role: Manage project delivery timelines and milestones for the rollout of smart technology in retail environments. Serve as the primary liaison between our client and the supermarket, as well as with third-party vendors such as Deloitte and Accenture. Provide technical oversight and input into the architecture and integration strategies. Facilitate regular communication and reporting, providing updates, risk logs, and action plans to both internal and external stakeholders. Support operational assessments post-implementation to evaluate outcomes like labour savings and efficiencies. Travel to Morrison’s HQ in Leeds as required, with increased frequency during critical go-live preparation phases. Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years in technical project management, preferably within retail technology or SaaS integrations. Strong understanding of APIs, technical architecture, and integration workflows. Proven experience in managing relationships with vendors and consultancies such as Deloitte and Accenture. Excellent organisational and stakeholder communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across different time zones with US-based teams. Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, and project management tools such as Jira. Preferred Skills: Experience in the grocery or retail sectors. Familiarity with smart devices, IoT, or embedded systems.
