Commercial Manager - Civils - Negotiable Salary

Leading design and build solution provider specialising in the water sector. Operating throughout the UK, primarily supporting long term water sector frameworks operating both independently and increasingly in joint ventures and alliances.
Your new role
Working on the Water Framework based across East Anglia, they are looking to strengthen their Commercial team with a Projects Commercial Manager based out of Peterborough. Working as part of a collaboration of organisations and their extended supply chain, delivering over half of the Framework's capital investment programme. As Projects Commercial Manager you'll be accountable for the commercial and cost management for the project from inception to close out reporting directly to the Project Director. Using your expertise and commercial nous, you'll challenge current commercial thinking and agreements. You'll work with the Project Director and their team on all project matters as you look to leave a positive and lasting impression.
Key responsibilities:
1. Ensure robust estimates are provided that are aligned to scope and makes due allowance for all risks and opportunities.
2. Manage the procurement process ensuring that all strategies are developed and agreed and that tender processes are followed correctly.
3. Subcontractors are properly managed in accordance with contract requirements including: compliance, communications, payments, compensation events and programme submissions.
4. Ensure robust cost management is undertaken at all times including: accurate live forecasting and actual costs vs estimates.
5. Ensure that accurate and trusted records are kept so that all financial information for audits and cost assurance is readily available.
6. Continually strives to develop processes and procedures to ensure standardisation across the commercial teams delivery process.
7. Looks to develop members of the team with commercial knowledge and experience gained over numerous years in industry.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Educated to Degree/HNC level or equivalent.
2. RICS/CIOB/CICES.
3. Experience delivery of multiple and or complex projects ranging in values from £100k to multi-million pounds.
4. Contract administration (working with NEC suite of contracts) experience.
