We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school setting in Southend. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
As a key member of the support team, you will work closely with teachers to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to thrive.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role, demonstrating patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential. This is a full-time position with excellent rates of pay and the chance to begin work immediately.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in their learning and development.
* Work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and learning strategies.
* Assist in the classroom by providing one-to-one support and small group interventions.
* Encourage a positive and inclusive environment that promotes student well-being and academic achievement.
* Help manage classroom behavior and support emotional regulation for students.
* Monitor and track student progress, reporting to the teaching staff regularly.
* Support the physical, social, and emotional needs of the students.
* Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a comprehensive support system.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Previous experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
* Understanding of individual education plans (IEPs) and strategies to support diverse learners.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
* Ability to manage challenging behavior in a calm and professional manner.
* A compassionate and patient approach to working with children.
* Relevant qualifications such as a Teaching Assistant Certificate (Level 2 or 3) are preferred.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
