Our busy, friendly dispensary team at St James hospital have a 12 month secondment opportunity for a band 3 dispenser to join the team. The dispensary team work hard in a fast paced but supportive environment to provide an excellent medicines supply service. You will be working with pharmacists, technicians, and our ward teams dispensing medicines for our patients. The role requires an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services and previous pharmacy experience. This role is based in Inpatient Pharmacy at St James hospital and is full time hours, (37.5 hours) Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm on a 12 months contract. All staff contributes to an 8pm evening shift every 5 weeks and a Saturday or Sunday on a 1 in 4 rota. Main duties of the job The role is varied and consists of all aspects of labelling and dispensing medicines, including controlled drugs, discharge prescriptions, and inpatient orders. There will also be some reception work, answering the phone, dealing with reception and admin type tasks. Some stock maintenance and ordering of medicines will also be included in this role. The successful candidate will join the friendly team at St James Inpatient Pharmacy for a 12 month secondment contract.
